DSC_0399aA MAN teaching his kids to swim at Gendhing natural pond in Ganjuran Sukorejo, Mertoyudan of Magelang Regency, Wednesday (August 14, 2013).

The pond, although cemented and concreted several times, is natural as groundwater emerges and flows out swiftly. River rocks and sands covering the pond’s floor.

Gendhing becomes one of important springs for residents in Magelang Regency all this time.

Magelang’s water supply were also originally taken from several other sources like Kalibening, Pisangan, Sawangan, Blambangan Blabak, Jogonegoro and Menoreh Hills.

Gendhing’s water quality and quantity had hitherto been protected by the presence of large trees on hills surround.***
