Akmil’s Soekotjo Swimming Pool: A Photo Story

SOEKOTJO swimming pool in Magelang Regency, the Province of Central Java. Owned by the Indonesia Military Academy (Akmil), the pool was built next to sources of water by Dutch East Indies government in the early 1900s. Soekotjo’s main pool, which is separated from children baths, has a flat-bottomed area at depth level of up to 5 meters (16 feet). The average number of visitors in the swimming pool, ranging from a low of about 300 in weekdays to a high of about 600 visitors in weekend.***
