I have tried to verify the information through Mr Chan’s Twitter account @EyeOfJackieChan but it has not yet been answered.

INTERNATIONALLY renowned Kung-fu action hero Chan Kong-sang aka Jackie Chan has been appointed Indonesia’s tourism ambassador in China by the Indonesian government, Antaranews reported Tuesday (July 29, 2014).

Mr Chan will be officially inaugurated on August 30 in conjunction with the CITM (China International Travel Mart) 2014 in Shanghai New International Expo Centre, said Nia Niscaya, Director of International Tourism Promotion of Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Mr Chan, who has been acting since the 1970s and has appeared in over 100 films, will be asked to sing the Mandarin version of “Bengawan Solo” (literally Solo River, a famous song written by Indonesia’s legendary composer Gesang Martohartono in 1940) at his inauguration as Indonesia’s tourism ambassador.

Possibly the most recognised Hong Kong celebrity, Mr Chan is already Hong Kong’s official tourism ambassador; a Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef (The United Nations Children’s Fund) and Unaids (the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS); and also Asia Pacific tourism ambassador for UNWTO (the United Nations World Tourism Organization).

In 2005, Mr Chan visited Indonesia’s Nanggroe Atjeh Darussalam which was hit by the earthquake and tsunami on 26 December, 2004, to see where the HKD 37 million (USD 4.77 million) charity money he helped raise will be put to use.***
