1,290 Students, 33 Provinces Participated in the 1st National Madrasah Scout Camp in Magelang

THE NATIONAL Madrasah Scout Camp, PPMN (Perkemahan Pramuka Madrasah Nasional) 2015 was the first nationwide, scout overnight camp for Madrasah (Muslim educational institution, Islamic school) students. This event was held in Military Academy’s outdoor shooting range in Plempungan of Ngadirejo Village, Salaman Subdistrict, Magelang Regency, May 11-15, 2015.

Over 1,290 Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic high school) students members of the Indonesian Scout Movement (ISM, Pramuka) from 33 provinces in Indonesia took part in the PPMN 2015. The event organized by the Directorate General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Kwartir Nasional (Central Board of ISM) has been planned to be held annually.

The scout overnight camp included the following activities: discussing several issues wih local and national speakers, religious and moral and environmental education, sports and outdoor games, and musical and other artistic performances. PPMN 2015 was attended by Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Chairman of the Indonesian Scout Movement Adhyaksa Dault, and several military officials.***[alwaysmagelang@gmail.com]
