YESTERDAY was graduation day for cadets at Indonesia’s Military Academy (Akademi Militer, Akmil), Naval Academy (Akademi Angkatan Laut, AAL), the Air Force Academy (Akademi Angkatan Udara, AAU), and civilian Police Academy (Akademi Kepolisian, Akpol).
The new graduates consist of 404 Second Lieutenants (215 from Akmil, 100 from AAL, and 89 from AAU) and 389 Second Police Inspectors from Akpol (345 males, 44 females).
Akmil is located in Magelang Municipality, Central Java; AAL in Surabaya, East Java; AAU in Sleman, Yogyakarta; and Akpol in Semarang, Central Java. This year’s graduation ceremony took place on Thursday (July 30, 2015) in Akpol.
Each Akmil, AAL and AAU graduate has also obtained a Bachelor of Applied-Defense Science degree (Sarjana Sains Terapan Pertahanan, STHan), and graduates of Police Academy have earned Bachelor of Applied Police (Sarjana Terapan Kepolisian, STK). The juvenile officers will then be deployed to different regions throughout Indonesia.
In 2015, the number of new Second Lieutenants of Akmil, AAL and AAU has dropped from 453 in 2014 and 415 in 2013. Contrariwise, new Second Police Inspectors has increased from 285 in 2013 and 315 in 2012.***[firstname.lastname@example.org]
